Our Story

Katie and Kamran met at work. Their 1st date was at Devil's Lake in Wisconsin where they hiked, which is something that has followed them thru their entire relationship. Over the last couple years they have enjoyed multiple road trips that involved lot of driving and a little bit of hiking 😉 They have renovated and sold one house and bought a new home together, one with a lot less renovation projects. But don’t worry there are still things to do! They have taken a trip to Mexico, Miami, numerous national park and endless trips to Costco. They love to spend their time playing with Murray and Gyppy, biking, watching LOTS of tv, gardening, cleaning out the garage (again and again) and filling their new home with lots of fun. They are so excited to be able to share this special time in their lives with you all!

The Proposal

In March 2021 Kamran became a US Citizen! Yay! He knew he wanted to propose to Katie and needed to figure out how. They bought a new house together in May 2021 and Kamran thought to propose then but being very specific on which ring he wanted to buy he wasn't ready. Then Kamran and Katie went on a 2 week long road trip and he decided this was the time. As Kamran said on the 1st day of the trip, “This is going to be the best vacation ever!” On the 3rd day of the trip, July 4th, they woke up in Morgantown, West Virginia and drove to Black Water Falls State Park in West Virginia. They drove around the park, hiked a few paths and Kamran told Katie he wanted to go to a spot called Lindy’s Point.

They drove to the location and walked down this path that opened up to gorgeous views of the countryside. Kamran was a little panicked as this is where he wanted to propose but the rickety wooden deck that was present wasn’t the picture he had in mind. He was frantically trying to find a better spot to get down on one knee. A group of people vacated a flat area that had a great view and they both walked over there. Katie sat with her feet hanging over the side of the rocks and Kamran set up his Go- Pro on a tripod so he could take a “photo” of them. Kamran came to grab Katie to have her stand up, but she was too busy taking a selfie and made him wait. Eventually she stood up and Kamran started saying very nice things and got down on one knee, Katie gasped. He proposed and was unsure what to do with the ring. They got it on her finger, and she said yes. The crowd clapped in the background. He told her all his stories that led them to this. They were both so excited! They had a picnic lunch by a pond where Katie spilled the cooler on the sidewalk and all the ice tumbled all over. They then visited a historic lunatic asylum nearby. Perfect end to a romantic day. Now they are planning their wedding and the rest of their lives together.

Covid 19 Precautions

Over the past year and a half, our lives have changed dramatically due to the pandemic. Now that the vaccine is readily available, we are highly encouraging our guests to be vaccinated to attend our wedding.

It is with particular thought for our older, more vulnerable loved ones that we ask you to consider this. We hope you understand our loving intention is for all our guests to be safe, happy and to be able to celebrate with confidence as we take a much-anticipated step towards our future lives together.

Safety is paramount and we thank you for holding us in your hearts as we make this request. If you are unable to receive the vaccine, we kindly ask you to take a Covid test no earlier than 48 hours prior the wedding. We appreciate your understanding to make this event safe for all our guests.

Save the Dates

Kamran had fun with our save the dates card. He made six different version of it to send electronically while we are late for sending invitations. Click on any of the images below to see the full version.
